But before we embrace cooler weather, let’s take a look at some things that will help make the last few days of summer the best.

Putting down your phone and getting outside is the best way to take advantage of the last bit of warm weather and longer days. You can find a nearby park or trail to take your bike or walk along with your best sidekick.

Closer to home, you could always host one final cookout to take advantage of the lasting warm weather. If you still haven’t indulged in a hotdog, corn on the cob, or cheeseburger yet this season, now is your chance! 2. Splash around

With so many fantastic water access spots out there, get out and enjoy splashing around before it’s too late. This could be as simple as going to a pool or your local beach. If you are willing to travel, visit some rivers or lakes that you haven’t tried yet for some great water activities. You could go boating, or just enjoy the sun with friends and family. Perhaps you have a pool or hot tub of your own and you aren’t ready to put the cover on them just yet. Take some time to squeeze every last ounce of fun from your backyard oasis. 3. Relax and unwind.

School can be stressful, work can be stressful, and life can be hard. Summer is the time of year that reminds us all to have fun and enjoy our downtime, so don’t let the summer relaxation end just yet! You can relax by having a day in the sun, having a picnic, enjoying a glass of wine on the deck with friends, throwing a backyard movie night, or even by just doing something you love like drawing or playing basketball. Enjoying the last few moments of relaxing summer fun before the exams, deadlines, holidays, or winter blues kick in is the perfect way to soak up the final moments of sunshine.

4. Take a day trip.

Why not be a tourist in your own city or state? Gas up the car, throw a cooler in the back and head out on the open road with the windows rolled down. Summer days can be the best carefree days full of sunshine and adventure. There are destinations in each state that will make your last few days of summer even more memorable. You can drive a few hours or even a few days if you would like and take that final adventure of the season. No matter where you go, just make sure that you have your windows rolled down and a really great playlist turned up!

5. Spend your time with family and friends

After the kids go back to school and work really starts to crank up again, there is no doubt that free time becomes limited. Quality time spent with your friends and family can take a hit after summer ends, so take these last few days to spend time with them now. Whether it’s a day trip, an afternoon at the park or sitting in the backyard stargazing, any time spent with your friends and family soaking up the last bit of summer will be time well spent.

Whatever you decide to do with your last few of summer, be sure to enjoy them. Have fun doing the things that just won’t be the same once the season changes.
